Golf Course/Association Implementation Example

The NGI Golf Course Association has 10 courses in a geographic region. All courses are independently owned and operated but all belong to the NGI Golf Course Association.

  • NGI Golf Course Association members earn rewards points for each round of golf played based on the total amount spent on each round.
  • After five to seven rounds of golf (depending on the course being played), the members can receive a free round of golf.
  • NGI Golf Association Members can mine information from the data base and send targeted e-mail communications to card holders advertising special incentives and encouraging them to return.


  • Earning Incentives
  • Consumers are asked for their cards at time of payment.
  • After order is totaled, the cashier swipes the card through the LetarisCare terminal provided.
  • The cashier enters a security code and the sale amount.
  • LetarisCare does the rest: adds the proper points to the card, records the visit and prints the receipt.
  • The receipt is used to remind the consumer of the extra value in returning to NGI the member golf course.


  • Redemption of Incentives
  • To redeem the free round of golf, the consumer presents the card to the cashier.
  • The cashier swipes the card, enters the security code and deducts the proper incentive.
  • LetarisCare does the rest: deducts the incentive from the card balance, records the visit and prints two receipts. One receipt is used to remind the consumer of the extra value in returning to NGI Golf Course Association member courses and the second receipt is used as justification for the reduction in cash received (if any).
